Recognizing the VanKirk family's $100,000 donation to "Let's Connect!"

The owners of Progressive Foundry in Perry have really stepped up to help develop the 9-mile, $5 million "connector" trail between the Raccoon River Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail. Their identity as donors of the challenge grant was revealed in ceremonies Nov. 10, and right then trail advocates announced they'd already matched the gift by raising $104,000 in other donations. Adding to the fun was the dedication of Perry's new 30-foot-long, 15-foot-tall "Big Bike" sculpture at the RRVT trailhead downtown!
