A highlight of the 8th annual banquet of the Raccoon River Valley Trail Association was the presentation of this $200,000 ceremonial check by Chris Kramer (left), deputy director of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, to Jim Miller and Cindy Jensen, members of the RRVT Association's board of directors. Next steps on public art initiative on the full RRVT

Representatives from 11 of the 14 communities located on the Raccoon River Valley Trail will meet this Wednesday, March 4, in Adel to learn about what the recent "Iowa Great Places" designation means for public art possibilities at their trailheads. Artist David Dahlquist & colleagues from RDG Planning & Design will explain the "Waukee Railroad Pergola -- in the shadow of the rails" being used in Waukee and ideas from that for other towns. ...
