One of the prettiest spots on the Raccoon River Valley Trail this time of year is just south of the trailhead in Panora, where there is a veritable “tunnel of trees” – many of them now in full autumn color. Here are two views there on Thursday, Oct. 6. In the photo of the three cyclists rolling into Panora, the first two are Dennis Dippel of Belmond and Mimi Leonard of Johnston. We couldn’t catch up with the third rider to get a name. Dippel and Leonard reported they were finishing a 50-mile ride from Panora to the Adel area and back. “It’s so pretty out here that we couldn’t miss a day like this!” said Dippel.
