You think they’re not excited in Dallas Center about the Raccoon River Valley Trail’s new north loop now being completed into the town? Check these two photos from the Dallas Center Fall Festival parade, held Saturday, August 27. Mayor Mitch Hambleton and the city council members decided they were going to help celebrate the town’s new bicycling possibilities by riding recumbent bikes in the parade. David Hoss, of Barr Bike & Fitness in Des Moines, provided the bikes. Dallas Center city council member Daniel Willrich, by the way, is also a member of the board of directors of the Raccoon River Valley Trail Association.
