Most of the area that the Raccoon River Valley Trail crosses in west central Iowa received between 6 and 10 inches of snow Monday and Tuesday, January 10 and 11, and that is bound to have made two groups of trail users happy – the snowmobilers and the cross-country skiers! This snow-packed sign was at the trailhead in Jefferson. It was hard to imagine that less than two weeks ago, there was 60 degree weather that brought bicyclists back out on the trail.
