At Central Christian Church in Jefferson on Sunday, October 17, they decided to forego the regular Sunday School classes and worship service and instead have a morning of community service. The theme: “We are the hands and feet of Christ!” Members of all ages fanned out to a half-dozen sites around town where people needed help with different projects. These four members spent a couple hours cleaning up the wildflowers garden at the trailhead of the Raccoon River Valley Trail in the east part of town. Left to right are Gabby Pena, of the middle school class in the Sunday School program; church member Annette Foster; Taylor Hardin, a high school student in the Sunday School program, and Sunday School teacher Nikki Davis.
