Update for this weekend of August 13-15: Area’s flooding problems are not affecting the Raccoon River Valley Trail, which is fully open and available.

COOPER, Iowa, August 13, 2010 – Flooding this week has caused major problems to many areas of central and west-central Iowa, but the Raccoon River Valley Trail is unaffected by it going into this weekend of August 13-15.

The directors and/or staff of the three county conservation boards that own and manage the trail — Dallas, Guthrie and Greene — all reported Friday morning that they have no reports of any flooding on the trail.

The trail is fully open and available for use.
