Here-comes-a-banana-biker
You never quite know what you’ll see when you’re riding on the Raccoon River Valley Trail – like having a banana suddenly come pedaling past you! On Saturday, June 26, Lori Willert and her 12-year-old daughter Kelsie, of Bolan in north central Iowa, were riding their tandem bicycle between Jefferson and Cooper when the bike got a flat tire. They’re shown on the left here, while Rich Osborne, of Jefferson, in a red jersey, works on patching their tube to repair the flat. Waiting on the right are Cole Willert, 11, of Bolan, and Gayla Belden, of Des Moines. The banana man and his riding partner peeled right on by before we could get their names, but they did yell that they are from Huxley in central Iowa.
