A new era is coming – and coming soon! – on the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Guthrie County. Conservation Director Joe Hanner, shown here standing on part of the badly deteriorated trail surface just south of Yale, was surprised this week to learn that contractors are ready to start work almost immediately on the nearly $720,000 concrete resurfacing of 5.5 miles of the trail from Yale south to Panora. It is expected to be completed in early June. The resurfacing project is being paid for with funds from the federal government’s economic stimulus program. For more details on the project, see the story below in the RRVT News.
