Steve Bishop, of Carroll, and his dog Duchess were among those who hunted the right-of-way on the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Greene County on the October 31-November 1 opening weekend of Iowa’s pheasant hunting season. Bishop was hunting the trail south of Cooper when we met him. Hunting on the RRVT right-of-way is permitted in Greene County, from Winkleman Switch to the Greene-Guthrie County line. Hunting is not allowed on the RRVT in either Guthrie or Dallas Counties.
